What’s happened to the TimesOnline Law Weblog which has disappeared from the radar?

At the time of its launch I wondered how the TimesOnline Law section and the Law Weblog would co-exist, commenting that, compared to news sites, blogs “allow less formal reporting and comment, free from the usual editorial strictures”.

Could it be the blog was too much hard work? too open? or do they have something up their sleeve?

Corporate Blawg used to leave comments on the Times Online, but found that quite often his comments were not uploaded. Some of the statements by Gary Spanner were infuriating, especially his line on hajibs, and his views on legality of burning flags. If it was meant to prompt a response it certainly did, but then he chose to censor and deleted Corproate Blawg’s sardonic and well-crafted comments!!! Corporate Blawg strongly disagrees with C(omm)en(t)sorship.

Hopefully the Times Online blawg will return as it was often pretty interesting, and even though Gary Slapper’s points of view were a bit far out, he wrote well and provided food for thought, so actually, all in all, Corporate Blawg quite liked reading him, (even though his comment policy was f**ked up) so bring it back says Corporate Blawg! And let Comments be free!

On balance it was a good and lively place, and because of all the usual reasons, I read it more often than the Online Law section pages. So why pull it? Legal issues? We should be told.
