A second edition of the Criminal Case Management Framework has recently been issued by the CJS. The Framework is a guide for operational practitioners on managing cases in the most effective and efficient way from pre-charge through to conclusion, describing case management procedures and the roles and responsibilities for operating them of administrative staff and of the defence. It also sets out the expectations of the judiciary. The online version is structured around “route maps” for the three types of case: guilty plea, not guilty plea and traffic cases. A pdf version can also be downloaded.
